"Off Ground" is on page 321. Now, a few things to notice. First, the index is alphabetical — that's why we go from N to O here. Second, some topics have more than one page number. That means the topic is covered in more than one place in the book. For example, "Nav AIDs" appears on both page 286 and page 293. When you see that, it usually means the topic is introduced in one place and then discussed again later, perhaps in more depth or in a different context. Third, notice the abbreviations. "ND" is listed as its own entry, and it stands for Navigation Display. In aviation, you'll see these abbreviations used constantly, and the index is one place where you can find what they stand for. So the practical skill here is simple: when you're studying a topic, you look it up in the index, find the page number, and go there. If there are multiple page numbers, you know the topic spans several sections.
