Moving to AIP ENR — the En Route section. This covers Navigation Aids En Route — all the VORs, NDBs, DMEs, and other navaids along the airways. It also includes Codenames for Significant Points — those five-letter waypoints you see on charts, like MAYBO or BIKSO. These are published so every pilot and ATC unit uses the same name for the same point.
Then there are Navigation Warnings — these are things like airspace restrictions, danger areas, prohibited areas, and military activity zones. You need to know these to plan a safe route.
In AIP AD — the Aerodrome section — we have Aerodrome Categorization. This tells you the category of each aerodrome — for example, whether it's suitable for instrument approaches, what rescue and firefighting category it has, and its runway dimensions.
Then there's Aerodrome Communication Facilities — the frequencies and types of radio services available at each aerodrome, like tower, ground, approach, and ATIS.
And finally, Aerodrome Radio Navigation and Landing Aids — the specific navaids at that aerodrome, such as ILS, VOR, NDB, or DME, along with their frequencies and coverage.
The chapter also covers Other Sources of information, and Search and Rescue — the SAR organization and procedures for that country.
So, to sum up: the AIP is your official, comprehensive source for all the information you need to plan and fly a flight in any country. It's divided into GEN, ENR, and AD, and each section has specific subsections covering everything from location indicators and NOTAMs to navaids, aerodrome services, and search and rescue.
